The theme of art creation

The theme of my art creation is to learn and study the world that exists right in front of my eyes. By creating it this way, I think, I will be able to learn more about a different world. “Drawing” is one of the fundamental activities among human beings and actually people have an inherent ability to draw. I draw pictures by observing objects. When I have drawn as much as I want, of what I want, for example, flowers, landscapes, animals, daily images, etc., I feel strongly that drawing is a very personal activity. But, at the same time, I feel it is a universal nature relating to all people.

As for color painting, my method is to dip or layer colors on textiles, or with respect to the procedures, the textile is cut first, then painted on. The subject of the painting is not always very realistic, but more of a randomness or happening. My inspiration is from a shape of “a spot” made by accident, than the painting starts, using the spot as inspiration.

As for drawing, some chunks of colors, that are left over on the paper-made pallet, are used to start a collage, and then paint is added on top of them. This is done several times. Inspiration comes from the shapes of the left-over colors on the pallet.

My creation method is, at first glance, very incidental. Accordingly, my art works are grounded on many aspects, such as kinds of materials, the weather, my body condition, etc. Not relying on the traditional drawing technique, my drawings are spontaneous. From using my favorite motif, flowers or plants, a parallel to nature can be drawn from my art work. It looks like it came by accident, but in reality, it came based on inevitable consequences.

In the exhibition, I am trying to let my art work have a close relationship with daily life or daily activities rather than just let it present the conventional aspect of “painting”. As for placing my art work, it looks like a curtain or tablecloth. (Caution: the art work is fragile and it is not to be used for practical purposes) Its physical appearance is very simple and the instillation is as if it is to be used as a real product, in a scene from our daily life, rather than art.

In the future, I would like to create innovative paintings, not only including the traditional element of “being appreciated” but also bringing a new element of originality.
